ISO 14001:2004 is an internationally recognised standard which sets out how organisations can put into action an effective Environmental Management System (EMS).  This standard is designed to concentrate on maintaining profitability whilst reducing the company’s impact on the surrounding environment.

MDE are currently accredited to ISO 9001:2008 standards however undertook the mission of applying to integrate the new ISO 14001:2004 accreditation. 

MDE had no previous environmental related awareness training and had to comply with the appropriate accreditation requirements needed to ensure that all employees and subcontractors etc received the appropriate environmental training and guidance.

In July 2011, MDE successfully fulfilled all obligations required and are proud to announce that the ISO 14001:2004 accreditation has now been achieved.
